Skiing at Kaimakcalan

Skiing has always been the quintessential extreme sport, a paradigm of exhilarating freedom on one hand, and deep harmony with the elemental forces of nature on the other. Ever since the first time that a person slid down a white mountain slope, legs bound on rough-hewn wooden boards, every year skiing brings to the snow-covered mountains more and more free spirits in love with adventure. Skiing is certainly as old as human history, and probably older. Long before what we now call civilization dawned on the planet, people in northern latitudes used sled-like devices to move on deep snow without sinking in it.
