Neos Kosmos – Athens’s “New World” – has slipped from workshops and walk-ups into one of the city’s most intriguing after-dark terrains. Around Syngrou Avenue and the snug run of Menechmou street, you’ll hit destination dining grounded in Greek produce, a Roman spritzeria, a natural-wine den, a craft-beer nook and a Thai-leaning cocktail hybrid.

Consider this a tight edit of where to cross town for what matters now: what each spot does, how it feels, and what to order.

01

Fita

A gastro-taverna with daily changing menus: fresh fish grilled or fried, slow-cooked dishes from the pot, hand-made breads and smart low-waste cooking. The airy courtyard gives it a relaxed feel, with occasional tram hums in the background and wait-staff that balance efficiency and warmth. Since chef Dimitris Dimitriadis took over the kitchen, the style has tightened without losing the signature dishes – bottarga spaghetti, taramasalata, and a much-praised caramel éclair.

Annie Fine Cooking

Intimate and chef-led, Annie Fine Cooking turns weekly market drops into refined contemporary plates – cabbage-roll sarmadakia sit beside beef-tongue ramen or fish soups when the weather leans that way. Sidewalk seating and a short, thoughtful wine list back a kitchen committed to seasonality. It’s become one of the reliable “modern Greek” kitchens in the district.

03

Amore Spritzeria

A Roman-style spritz bar transplanted into Athens: tiled bar front, retro furnishings, and a clean list of low-alcohol Italian classics – Garibaldi, Sbagliato, Aperol, Campari, Cynar spritzes plus a “dirty” Martini that gets local praise. The snacks are salty and simple—anchovies, cold cuts, bottarga, smoked almonds. It fills up early and closes around midnight.

04

Epta Martyres

Natural-wine serious but relaxed: magnums by the glass, some off-beat Greek producers, a deep bottle list tucked behind a marble-top bar, soft lighting and fresh flowers. The kitchen crafts meze to match the wines—charred cabbage, mussels, cuttlefish with herbs—priced to invite nibbling until late.

05

Baubo Bottleshop & Grocery

A bottle-shop turned bar that runs about 140 labels from Greek micro-breweries and international craft makers. Simple snacks – fries with eggs and parsley-pesto, cheeses from small producers with jams and pickles – keep things casual and sociable. Vinyl records, friends meeting after work, open-ended nights.

06

Nō Bar

An unpretentious name, dramatic details: this bar offers signature and classic cocktails, spritzes and a small but curated back-bar; the food is bar-friendly rather than full dinner – mini hot dogs with coleslaw and yuzu, pinsa with prosciutto and basil – so the mood remains relaxed and social. Situated in the newer wave of Neos Kosmos nightlife around Antisthenous Street.

07

Groovy Mango

This playful hybrid opened in 2025 and quickly found its place: Thai-comfort food meets cocktail bar in a space of high ceilings, black-and-white Bangkok-style photos and school-style chairs. On the drink side: creative cocktails (don’t miss the “Just Call Me Tiger” or “Iced Out Tutu”) and a modest wine list. On the food side: chicken satay with peanut sauce, spring rolls, pad-thai, curry dishes and a standout mango salad with green mango, onion, coconut, shrimp, lime and fish sauce – the bar stays buzzing after dinner.
