Mirra is the new gastronomic experience that comes to light up Merichas, the port of Kythnos. A sophisticated, small all-day hotspot with a passion for hand-picked ingredients; a refined tribute to comfort-food, authenticity and delightful simplicity.

9

Mirra’s menu focuses on three key elements and does so wholeheartedly: Eggs, pinsa and burgers.

Its dreamy breakfast and brunch are the absolute first-thing-in-the-morning experience; inspired healthy bowls, four different kinds of club-sandwiches and –most importantly- a pervasive love of eggs! Eggs in any version – fried, scrambled or omelette – with selected ingredients that create real, flavourful tensions –a meal designed to stick in your mind all day long.

Pinsa is the traditional Roman-style pizza, with or without tomato sauce, pressed and filled by hand, and baked masterfully to an airy crisp. At Mirra, pinsa gets the attention it deserves and is served in 12 different versions, all distinct and delicious – small taste experiences designed to be shared and to foster relaxation and sensory satisfaction.

Mirra’s burgers are the highlight of its menu. The carefully selected meats and ingredients reflect a deep knowledge of the subject matter. Mirra surprises us pleasantly, as one would hardly believe that such a dining experience could be hidden in a port that has been in the shadows for years.

This was one of the reasons why Nikolas Lambrogiorgos, after an exciting career in restaurants that have had a major influence on the Athenian dining scene, such as Milos and Vezene, identified the spot to launch this unexpected, Cycladic surprise.

His wife Konstantina Roussou has created a wine list that blends masterfully with the menu, but also with a depth of flavour that adds its own value to each pairing.

Mirra feels like it has been on Merichas for years! But that is the impression that is created every time anything new is born out of love and knowledge of the subject. In this case, Mirra comes to fill an obvious void on an island that so clearly needed it. But also in a port, like Merichas, which for years remained in the shadows and whose fate always deserved to change.
