The government is expected to lift the strict restrictions imposed on Mykonos on Saturday, July 17.

According to protothema.gr, from Monday 26 July activities that were suspended, such as music in restaurants and nightclubs will be permitted annew. In addition, the night-time curfew imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus (Covid19) is expected to be lifted. 

The lifting of lockdown restrictions, which is expected to be decided next Monday 26 July can be attributed in large part to the epidemiological data. More specifically, after the first days of implementation of the strict measures, the number of cases has stabilized – or even decreased – without a parallel increase in hospital admissions, as protothema.gr reports. Should the situation stabilize in the upcoming days, the announcement of the resumption of the suspended activities on the island is expected.

In cooperation with the local authorities and the municipality of Mykonos, intensified measures are expected to control compliance so that the situation does not lead to a new outbreak.
