For the second year in a row, Greece has been named “Favourite Cruise Destination” at the British Wave Awards. Now in their eighth year, the awards, run by Real Response media, reward and celebrate innovation and excellence within the sector. Real Response Media owns World of Cruising and Cruise Trade News magazines which, between them, have more than 350,000 subscribers across all platforms, 25,000 social media followers, and 180,000 unique visitors coming to their websites each month.

And there’s further good news, confirming that Greece is the place to visit in the future. According to research on international tourism trends, Greece remains as popular as ever among the British public for summer holidays (short-haul flights). The research, presented during a workshop on ‘Travel Trends’, and organised by the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), was attended by the head of the UK’s National Tourist Office (NTO), Eleni Skarveli.

The main focus of the workshop was the impact of the current economic situation, consumer travel behaviour, and travel trends for 2023. Topics addressed included sustainability trends in tourism, post-pandemic travel marketing, digital trends, online behaviours and technological developments, as well as the travel preferences of Generation Z.
