Direct flights from Canada to Athens start on 2 April. The latter was announced after a meeting between Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias and Canadian Ambassador Mark Allen, which took place today at the Ministry of Tourism.

It should be noted that direct flights will be operated for the first time until the end of November, whereas in previous years they were operated until October.

Mr.Kikilias welcomed this development, which, combined with the recent lifting of the requirement to show a negative coronavirus test for fully vaccinated travellers from Canada, is expected to attract more Canadian  visitors.

Mr. Allen also informed the Minister of Tourism of the change in Canada’s travel policy, as until yesterday the Government of Canada recommended that citizens avoid all non-essential travel.
