Hyatt Regency Hotel

13th km Thessaloniki – Peraia (+30 2310 401234)

The reason why we will always return to Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki is not only the fulfilment of our expectations in terms of luxurious accommodation, the direct contact with nature and the multiple possibilities offered to spend one’s free time inside and outside the hotel, but mainly the excellent relaxation experience provided: to be able to sleep on an amazing mattress without any noise interrupting your peaceful sleep, to enjoy a bubble bath in a large bathtub and to relax on a huge bed wearing your fluffy bathrobe.

But most of all, to be able to leave all your corona-related worries behind, all your problems and your stressful city schedule, and to descend the marble stairs that lead to the wonderful spaces of Harmonia Spa to treat yourself to a wonderful gift of total relaxation and complete well-being. Women in particular will understand exactly what I mean, since in addition to the massage treatments, there are manicure-pedicure, waxing and facial services.

We opted for the full 90-minute (!) massage treatment with a special fig-scented oil – just to remind us of summer- from a wide range of natural face and body products. We don’t know if it was the music, the evocative atmosphere that made you travel to wellness paradise or the special layout of the space created by the architectural house Alex Kravetz Design, but we felt that in Harmonia Spa we found ourselves again. Or rather that we came out brand new.

Regency Casino Thessaloniki

12th km Thessaloniki – Airport, +30 2310 491234

Those who think that casinos are just slot machines or roulettes and Black Jack tables have probably never visited the Regency Casino Thessaloniki that takes care in its huge premises to offer the ideal Disneyland of adults: games, lotteries, extra surprises, pleasant atmosphere, good food if you get hungry, but also lux and private experiences.

There you will also find the carefully designed, modern and luxurious Ian’s bar, inspired by the speak-easy bars of the interwar period, with its art deco aesthetic, black and white mosaic, velvet seats and black marble. Even the detail of the Viennese straw that adorns the bar and seats as a detail is extremely well thought out, aiming to conjure up a Great Gatsby atmosphere in the heart of Thessaloniki. After lying down on the comfortable seats in the nice, delicate booths we ordered a cocktail inspired by the playful images of the great Bob Venable and felt like we were in the heart of Manhattan but still breathing the delicate scent of Thessaloniki. No one, after all, can imagine that there is such an aesthetically pleasing bar in the heart of the casino.

Museum of Illusions Thessaloniki

5, Doxis Street, Ladadika – Thessaloniki, +30 2312 314250

Every room is a revelation, as the Museum of Illusions is an educational, stimulating and highly entertaining space. Enter a whole world of illusions – “the infinity room”, “the inverted subway”, “the chair illusion” and “the holograms”-, learn how they are created and take endless amazing photos with your friends. We definitely enjoyed it to our heart’s content.

Souel Wine Concept bar

16, Pavlou Mela Street, +30 2310 262827

Apart from great food, Thessaloniki also has some amazing wine bars with up-to-date wine lists covering Greece and the world. One such case is the highly modern and atmospheric wine concept bar Souel. An unexpected surprise is that you can accompany your wine not only with the classic cheese platter but also with savoury kataifi.

Paraty Loft

8, Pindou Street, Ladadika, +30 2310 522403

In this beautiful space with a modern loft aesthetic and retro touches, you can find everything you need at any time. Start with a delicious brunch, enjoy a business lunch and in the evening indulge in exquisite cocktails with the signature of Angelos Anagnostopoulos.

deka.epta café

Alexandrou Svolou, +30 2310 270063

As if it came straight out of Amsterdam or East London, quite frankly, I don’t think there is a more modern and cooler café in Thessaloniki. Pleasant atmosphere, vibrant colours, polite service and beautiful décor; the perfect way to start your day. Grab an espresso on the way to work or stop over for a cappuccino at lunch. Try their delicious sandwiches, such as the one with dinkel bread, hummus, vegan sausage and avocado, as well as their heavenly acai bowls. A must.

12, Palaion Patron Germanou, +30 2310 238661

Minimal aesthetics and amazing dishes; Kazbah has already become a popular hangout not only because of its minimal, very modern design, but mainly because of the range of flavours you can enjoy here, namely Italian, Greek and American cuisine – its burger is one of the best in town. Suitable for all times of day.

3, Kalapothaki Street, +30 2310 235225

Now that’s a surprise. We had the best bao buns – after New York- in Thessaloniki at this gastrostreet food joint that steals the show. Here you can find everything from foie gras to sheep in crazy combinations and takeaway concepts that have nothing to envy from haute cuisine. For advanced and demanding palates.
