By Air:

The closest airport to Pelion is the Nea Anchialos National Airport in Volos, about 26 kilometers from the city center. This airport has connections to several European cities via charter flights, particularly in the summer.

From Athens or Thessaloniki: If you’re flying into Athens or Thessaloniki, you can catch a domestic flight to Nea Anchialos. The flight from Athens to Volos takes approximately 40 minutes.

By Car:

If you prefer ground transportation, you can reach Pelion by car or bus from major Greek cities.

Grab a hire car from Athens: The drive from Athens to Volos takes about 4 to 5 hours, depending on traffic. Take the National Highway Athens – Lamia – Thessaloniki and follow the signs to Volos.

Get a hire car from Thessaloniki: If you’re driving from Thessaloniki, the trip to Volos takes about 2.5 hours via the E75 highway.

By Bus:

There are regular bus services (KTEL buses) from Athens and Thessaloniki to Volos. Once in Volos, you can take a local bus or taxi to your destination in Pelion. The bus trip from Athens to Volos lasts about 4-5 hours, and from Thessaloniki to Volos around 3 hours.

By Train:

You can also reach Volos by train from Athens or Thessaloniki. The journey from Athens lasts approximately 4-5 hours, while from Thessaloniki it’s about 3 hours. From the train station in Volos, you can take a taxi or a local bus to your final destination in Pelion.
