Η αλήθεια είναι ότι 24 ώρες είναι λίγες για την Θεσσαλονίκη. Ίσως και οι 24 μέρες να μην είναι αρκετές για να ανακαλύψει κανείς την γευστική μαγεία που έχει αυτή η πόλη. Όμως, αυτή την φορά, θα κάνουμε μια σύντομη -λέμε τώρα- βόλτα σε στέκια και μαγαζιά, καινούργια και παλιά που αν έχετε περιορισμένο χρόνο διαμονής στην Νύμφη του Θερμαϊκού, μπορείτε να επισκεφτείτε και να απολαύσετε.
Προσωπικά ένα καλό πρωί ξεκινάει με μια μπουγάτσα, αν και για πολλούς Θεσσαλονικείς κάπως έτσι τελειώνει η μέρα μετά από ένα ξενύχτι. Ο Γιάννης (Μητροπόλεως 106, τηλ. 2310257375) λοιπόν, πίσω από τον Λευκό Πύργο, είναι η πρώτη μου στάση. Λειτουργεί από το 1996. Το φύλλο που βασίζεται σε παραδοσιακή συνταγή, το ανοίγουν μόνοι τους και το γεμίζουν με κρέμα, με κιμά, με τυριά, με Nutella και με ότι άλλο μπορείτε να φανταστείτε. Προτιμώ φυσικά την παραδοσιακή με την βανιλάτη κρέμα, την άχνη και την κανέλα. Αφού, λοιπόν, βάλω λίγη γλυκά στο πρωινό ανηφορίζω για τον πεζόδρομο της Ικτίνου.

Εκεί στον αριθμό 6 θα βρείτε ένα από τα καλύτερα coffee shops της πόλης, το Valenio (Ικτίνου 6, τηλ. 2311291518). Ο Βαλάντης Λαμπριανίδης, λάτρης του πράσινου κόκκου, χρόνια εκπαιδευτής barista και κριτής σε διαγωνισμούς καφέ, αποφάσισε πριν από τρία περίπου χρόνια να ανοίξει το δικό του χώρο και να παραδίδει καθημερινά μαθήματα ποιοτικού καφέ. Δοκιμάστε κάποιον από τους μοναδικής προέλευσης που διαθέτουν -αλλάζουν συνεχώς ανάλογα με την διαθεσιμότητα- και τον cold brew.

Ανηφορίζοντας και προς το τέλος του πεζοδρόμου συναντάμε το Cin Cin (Ικτίνου 22, τηλ. 2310223350) ένα όμορφο all day bar που σερβίρει νόστιμο brunch και καλοφτιαγμένα ποτά. Αν ο καιρός το επιτρέπει, κάθομαι συνήθως στην αυλή του που γειτνιάζει με τις παλιές κατακόμβες και την εκκλησία του Αγίου Ιωάννη. Όμως, και το εσωτερικό του είναι όμορφο και περίεργο. Λέγοντας περίεργο αναφέρομαι στο ότι αν και bar, δεν διαθέτει μπάρα. Αυτό ήταν και το σχέδιο των ιδιοκτητών Βασίλη Καλαϊτζή (ευθύνεται και για τα πολύ καλά κοκτέιλ που θα δοκιμάσετε) και Ντίνας Κουτσού.

Στην άλλη γωνία, συναντάμε το Estrella (Π. Μελά 48, τηλ. 2310272045) με το πασίγνωστο πλέον «μπουγατσάν». Έκτος, όμως, από αυτό σερβίρει και χορταστικό brunch με πολλές επιλογές και πληθωρικά pancakes που δεν λείπουν από κανένα τραπέζι. Αν πάτε τις ώρες αιχμής ίσως να χρειαστεί να περιμένετε λίγο μέχρι να βρείτε να καθίσετε.
Από την άλλη μεριά της πόλης, στα Άνω Λαδάδικα, υπάρχει το Ύψιλον (Εδέσσης 3, τηλ. 2310530480). Είναι ένα σύγχρονο hub που συνδυάζει τον ποιοτικό καφέ, το φαγητό, το ποτό μαζί με την τέχνη. Το κτήριο όπου στεγάζεται, κατασκευάστηκε το 1870 από τον Ιωάννη Κύρτση και ήταν ένα από τα πολλά χάνια της πολυπολιτισμικής Σελανίκ. Επιλέγω το Ύψιλον κάθε φορά που θέλω να δουλέψω σε ένα όμορφο και ήρεμο περιβάλλον.

Από εκεί πάντα πετάγομαι στα Βομβίδια (Βας. Ηρακλείου 35, τηλ. 2310281939) από τα παλαιότερα σημεία στην πόλη στη Στοά Μοδιάνο, όπου μπορείτε να βρείτε τα ζουμερά πικάντικα σουτζουκάκια που τα αποκαλούν «βομβίδια». Άνοιξε το 1982 εκεί στην κεντρική αγορά της Θεσσαλονίκης σερβίρει πάνω σε λαδόκολλες και λειτουργεί μέχρι τις 18:00 το απόγευμα.
Κατεβαίνοντας στα Λαδάδικα υπάρχουν πολλά mainstream εστιατόρια, που για να σας είμαι ειλικρινής αν και μαζεύουν πολύ κόσμο, κυρίως νεαρόκοσμο, δεν με πείθουν για να φιλοξενηθώ στα τραπέζια τους. Υπάρχουν φυσικά και εξαιρέσεις όπως για παράδειγμα το Χαρούπι (Δόξης 4, τηλ. 6988526262) ένα εστιατόριο που τιμά την κρητική κουζίνα.
Ο chef Μανώλης Παπουτσάκης πατάει πάνω στην παράδοση της ιδιαίτερης πατρίδας του προσθέτοντας, όμως, σύγχρονες πινελιές και δημιουργεί νόστιμα (πολύ) πιάτα. Το απάκι, για παράδειγμα, γίνεται carpaccio και σερβίρεται με μια ξυδάτη σάλτσα και κρέμα παλαιωμένης γραβιέρας, οι χοχλιοί μπουμπουριστοί έρχονται μέσα σε παλαιωμένο ξύδι μαρουβά και ψητό σκόρδο, οι αμανίτες (μανιτάρια) τηγανίζονται σε κουρκούτι ρακής, τα γεμιστά γίνονται «γιουβέτσι» με κρέμα κρητικών τυριών, η κρεατότουρτα μπαίνει σε χειροποίητο ραβιόλια χαρουπιού και το γαμοπίλαφο (αχ αυτό το πιάτο!) θα σας κάνει να αμαρτήσετε και να μην αφήσετε το πιρούνι κάτω.
Άλλη μια εξαίρεση είναι και το σχετικά πρόσφατο +Τροφή (Δόξης 7, τηλ. 2310540260). Ο ιδιαίτερος μάγειρας της Μούργας Γιάννης Λουκάκης έστησε ένα «αστικό» καφενείο που το μενού αλλάζει καθημερινά μιας και βασίζεται στα εποχιακά και βιολογικά υλικά. Τα πάντα ετοιμάζονται στην ανοιχτή κουζίνα που καταλαμβάνει όλο το εσωτερικό του μαγαζιού. Προτιμώ πάντα να κάθομαι στην μπάρα για να βλέπω σε πρώτο πλάνο ότι διαδραματίζεται πίσω από τις φωτιές και τις κατσαρόλες.

Πιο κεντρικά και κοντά στην πλατεία Αριστοτέλους και σε ένα πιο άνετο χώρο μετακόμισε το αστικό εστιατόριο Clochard (Κομνηνών 10 & Μητροπόλεως 23, τηλ. 2310239805) που είναι και αυτό μια από τις επιλογές μου για ένα χαλαρό μεσημεριανό. Πάντα ζητάω τους λαχανοντολμάδες, όπως και το μπριάμ στο ξυλόφουρνο.

Και μετά από όλα αυτό το φαγοπότι έρχεται η ώρα για ένα χωνευτικό καφέ και ένα γλυκό. Ξαναγυρίζω στην περιοχή του Λευκού Πύργου και στον πεζόδρομο της Στρατηγού Καλλάρη για μια στάση στο Father (Στρ. Καλλάρη 9, τηλ. 2310241922) για ένα γρήγορο espresso, λίγη τζαζ, φανκ μουσική και ένα ζεστό χαμόγελο από τα παιδιά πίσω από την μπάρα.

Με τον καφέ στο χέρι γραμμή για το καινούργιο Armenonville (Μητροπόλεως 102, τηλ. 2310525112) όπου οι δύο φίλες Ευγενία Καλατζή και Έλενα Κογιμτζή επανασυστήνουν το παραδοσιακό γλυκό της πόλης και το παρουσιάζουν λίγο πιο σύγχρονο – λάτρεψα την εκδοχή με την κρέμα λεμονιού. Αν πάλι σας αρέσει το carrotcake σε πολύ κοντινή απόσταση είναι το Sugarela (Νικηφόρου Φωκά 12, τηλ. 2310308979) όπου φτιάχνουν ένα από τα καλύτερα στην Θεσσαλονίκη.

Και ήρθε η ώρα για ένα aperitivo (για να ανοίξει ξανά η όρεξη) ή ένα δροσερό spritz. Το ιδανικό μέρος η Giulietta Spritzeria (Παλαιών Πατρών Γερμανού 33, τηλ. 2310242020). Η ομάδα του Cin Cin μαζί με εκείνη του Apallou και του join Juice Bars έφτιαξαν ένα χαρούμενο στέκι σε ένα ημιυπόγειο όπου η φιλοσοφία του early drink έχει την τιμητική του.

Και αφού ένα white Negroni & Tonic έχει κάνει την δουλειά του και έχει ανοίξει την όρεξη, σε απόσταση αναπνοής το νέο Surfer Maya (Σκρα 8, τηλ. 2310235033) ένα εστιατόριο street food που έστησε η ομάδα του Estrella, η Μαρία Σμπιλή και τα αδέλφια Κώστας και Γιάννης Καπετανάκης. Λαχταριστά burgers, πληθωρικά σάντουιτς (αυτό με το παστράμι μην το χάσετε), tacos και παιχνιδιάρικα tacros (ζύμη κρουασάν σε σχήμα του tacos) πάνε την έννοια του street food παρακάτω δίνοντας της μια πιο ενδιαφέρουσα ματιά.

Σειρά παίρνουν τα κοκτέιλ. Πρώτη στάση το Casablanca Social Club (Λεωφ. Βασιλίσσης Όλγας 18, τηλ. 2311243609). Στην άσπρη επιβλητική έπαυλη του με τον μεγάλο και όμορφο μπροστινό κήπο, ο Αλέξανδρος Σουρμπάτης και η ομάδα του σερβίρουν προσεγμένα ποτά με πολύ ενδιαφέρον. Διαθέτουν επίσης μια μεγάλη ποικιλία από ουίσκι και ρούμι και ο Αλέξανδρος είναι ο καλύτερος «ξεναγός».
Πιο κεντρικά βρίσκεται το Vogatsikou (Βογατσικού 3, τηλ. 6972016783) ένα από τα καλύτερα μπαρ της πόλης που ήταν το βρίσκεις κάθε βράδυ γεμάτο. Ο Γιάννης Κέδες, συνιδιοκτήτης και bartender, μαζί με την υπόλοιπη ομάδα προσφέρουν κοκτέιλ με χαρακτήρα. Αγαπημένο μου το παλαιωμένο Negroni από τα αυτά που έχουν μπει στη λίστα με τα αγαπημένα.
