Chora

Platanos

Front and center in Kairi Square, the main spot of Chora, It’s next to the arch ‘Camara’ that leads to the old town. This non pretentious mezetholpoleo is always busy, and dishes out meat or seafood platers for 2,4 or 8 people. These are usually accompanied by ouzo or beer and locals camp here whiling away the hours. Those in the know forego the platters and order the local sausage, Andriot cheese and olives.

Swell

Located in the mid-section of the beach strip of Nimborio, this bar stands out as one of the best in the locale. Come evening, it draws a young crowd with its mix of house music and popular Greek tracks. During the day, it also operates as a beach bar, offering snacks and refreshing drinks to sunbathers lounging on free beach beds.

Fresco:

The first juice bar on the island, Fresco has been going strong for the last five years. Apart from juices they serve good coffee, freshly made salads and sandwiches. You can book a whole host of tours from there as they owners also run ‘Explore Athens‘. Conveniently located halfway down the main pedestrian street of Chora, Fresco sits right next to Krisilias, an old pie bakery that has been a beloved fixture in the community for over 50 years.
