Rhodes, the capital of the Dodecanese, has been luring travelers for decades now with its state-of-the-art 5-star hotels and high-end luxury boutique accommodation, gourmet restaurants and traditional tavernas, relaxed sunset cocktails and all night partying.

The Old Town is likely to be your first port of call. This UNESCO World Heritage town is one of the best preserved mediaeval settlements in the world. Today its protective, imposing walls act as a border between the past and present. In the new town, the cosmopolitan Mandraki, you find imposing Venetian buildings, a marina, and many shops, cafes, and restaurants.

And then there’s Lindos, the picturesque fishing village with its ancient acropolis above and fabulous beach snaking along below.

Rhodes is a large, lush island, endowed with spring waters. Inland there are many traditional villages to visit, as well as old Byzantine monasteries, the landscaped Rodini park, the forested Valley of the Butterflies, and the hot-baths or Thermae. At the vineyards and wineries you can taste the famous Rhodian wines and champagnes.
